♥ MARMITE ♥
Tales of a Marmite addict…
I love food. I love music. I love photography. I am also a super fan of social media. This is where all of these elements come together – alongside a few other thoughts and contemplations thrown in for good measure. All of this makes me happy and my aim is to bring a smile to your face too.
Tales of a Marmite addict…
On Thursday I had the pleasure of going to see ‘Love Never Dies’ at the Adelphi Theatre.
The play is the sequel to ‘Phantom of the Opera’. I was concerned before we arrived at the theatre that I would not understand the plot as I never saw the first instalment. However, that was not the case at all. Having no background knowledge was zero problem – I still found the story interesting…
When journeying home yesterday afternoon, I chanced upon this VW poster on the underground.
I think it is beautifully constructed. It shows how simple copy can be: how information can be cut out and not alter meaning. Although this example is sneaky though, because all ‘unnecessary’ information is included.
Living in London, I unfortunately don’t get to see them as much any more. But the good news for me (and them) (and you) is pretty much every weekend I go home they are playing another gig. Not to mention that everytime there is less standing space and more people dancing away than ever before. And it’s not just new people – there are definitely growing number of familiar faces who find their musical delights unmissable.
Maybe it was the fact that it was the first gig they had played here for a while or the fact it was the first time they played their new album. Maybe it was the fact they had reached number 1 in the midweek charts that day or maybe it was the fact they were playing to a group of loving fans who had no doubt that they were going to hear something extraordinary, I don’t know. But what I do know is that their performance made me reevaluate my perceptions of Keane. Their old tracks evoked memories of past summers and old friends and their new material proved they are still legit and their performance was faultless…

L’Artista is a homely Italian under the bridge next to Golders Green tube station. It is always rammed jammed packed full, whether it’s lunch or dinner, weekday or weekend. The reasoning behind it being so busy is probably down to the fact that it is very much suitable for every occasion. Good for sharing a pizza at lunch (L’Artista special with parma ham and rocket is my favourite) or a full three course meal…
Plum Valley, a fine dining chinese restaurant, is situated in the middle of London’s bustling China town. You can choose from a huge selection of tiny delights, as well as rice and noodles dishes if you wish to make you meal a little more substantial. My favourite is anything that contains prawns and is steamed. Think prawns and chinese chives, prawn and wasabi and prawn and scallop. Another big winner are the steamed honey roast pork buns. And as for the bigger dish, it has to be the handpulled noodles with duck.
After returning home from travelling and moving somewhere new, I had done my fair share of comforting eating. It was time to start being healthy. Or at least assign a week to trying.
As I type my photos are at the developers from my trip to India last summer. The number of films taken was 8. The number of shots per film 36. That means at full capacity there will be almost 300 pictures(!!!) Out of those 300 I have my fingers crossed for 50 good ones and around 10 pearlers…Watch this space – they are on their way!! It is going to take me an eternity to scan them all in even when they do arrive… In the mean time here’s a few digital ones to whet your appetite.
Once upon a time, on a lovely autumn afternoon not so long ago, my sister, my mother and my father and I went upon a little walk.
It makes me smile and it makes me über happy. Every time. I like the retro feel to it. I can loose myself in a book or in a world of music. I am able to sit down and do what I don’t normally have chance to. I can completely zone out. AND IT SMELLS SO GOOD.
