Plum in your mouth?

Plum Valley, a fine dining chinese restaurant, is situated in the middle of London’s bustling China town.  Me and @iamadtaylor first discovered it a couple of years ago when we weren’t resident London people but had daytripped across for my birthday.  We were craving dim sum, but were struggling to find somewhere amongst the masses of restaurants that served into the evening.

Although Plum Valley looks extremely up market and somewhat dominates Gerrard Street with its empowering and smart appearance, it is, in fact, extremely good value for money.  Not that this has any impact on the service or the sophisticated charm of the decor.

You can choose from a huge selection of tiny delights, as well as rice and noodles dishes if you wish to make you meal a little more substantial.  My favourite is anything that contains prawns and is steamed.  Think prawns and chinese chives, prawn and wasabi and prawn and scallop.  Another big winner are the steamed honey roast pork buns.  And as for the bigger dish, it has to be the handpulled noodles with duck (writing this is making me soooooo hungry!)

All of the above combined meant it was so good there was a repeat birthday performance this year.  We had only moved  to the big smoke a couple of days before, we wanted to go and knew it would be good, perfect option.  Again the food was fantastical.  As was the wine. Ever since its been a favourite haunt to take visiting friends and family.  An upper class experience at all times!

The restaurant is very easy to reach via the underground at Leicester Square.  Unfortunately Plum Valley do not have a website, but if you want to make a booking call: 0207 494 4366
